El Buono Pizza – defined BIG!

Posted in Food Trips with tags , on February 8, 2011 by applesdiary

The real monster pizza is here!

El Buono’s Pizza is beyond the word biggest. With its 36inches pizza deal, you can already sleep with the pepperonis and tomatoes. And oh, no need to worry about that tight pocket budget as this pizza comes in a very affordable prize.

This 36inches pizza costs about Php 2,499.00 only plus a free 1.5 Soft drinks that will be delivered right in your front door steps. Imagine the excitement on how a single motor delivery boy can handle this ultimate size pizza. Truly amazing. What’s best about El Buono’s pizza is that you can have a variety of flavors in one whole pizza order. What we have here is the combination of four pizza flavors such as: 1. El Buono Special, 2. La Carne Buono, 3. IL  Salami Picante, 4. Pizza Italiano.

El Buono Experience

The pizza tastes great regardless of the size. At first I taught it will going to taste like ordinary pizzas offered by this little pizza shops, but it wasn’t. It has strong flavors that will surely catch you tastebuds and make you ask for more. This 36 inches size pizza that we ordered will cater about 15-20 persons according to over-the-phone operator to whom I placed my ordered with. But believe me or not, we are about 30 persons that were  abundantly satisfied with the servings. Not bad for the 2.5k bucks.

Buendia Bus Bombing – 01/25/2011

Posted in Events ♥ with tags , , , on January 26, 2011 by applesdiary

O LORD GOD, lead us from death to life; from lies to truth. Lead us from despair to hope; from fear to trust. Lead us from hatred to love; from war to peace. Let peace fill our hearts; our world; our universe. Peace; Peace; Peace.

FEAR- this is one powerful word that everyone in my beloved country may now feel about themselves. The incident yesterday, January 25, 2010,  of the Buendia Bus Bombing opens our mind that life sets no guarantee. That each one of us can be a victim of a tragedy. It may happen now, tomorrow or days from now. It can happen to me, but it can also happen to you, to our family, friends, and loved ones. As early as today, ( Jan-26, 2010; 8:30AM) as I write this blog, many families are suffering from the incident. 5 people were left dead, 14 are still at the hospital, injured. I am so worried yesterday that I texted family and friends their whereabouts.

Makati might been regarded as the busiest business hub in the country. I currently work here, in a government bank located along the same Buendia street where the incident happened. It was ridiculous indeed to see on the TV News the same street I am passing along everyday, watching how many people died and suffered from a planted bomb. This is perhaps not new to us, but to me, it is someting quite close, quiet alarming and i’m afraid. Right there, I search along the internet and found out that the Bus Line name is New Man Gold Liner. I don’t actually know what will happen next. Justice in this country has been very poor eversince I have learn to pronounce the word. But then, I Trust the Lord. That everything will fall into places. May He send the right person to implement the Justice that everyone deserves. Not only for the victims but for everyone who instilled fear on their life.

This issue might be in the headlines for a week or two. But sooner or later, it will be replaced by new incidents that might happen next. That is always the case. Hopefully, it will not be forgotten by everyone unless Justice has been all set. For the victims, my prayers to you and your family. May God takes away the pain that you are all experiencing. May He embrace you with love and give you hope to battle life again. I also pray for the officials in the government, for the authorities that they may have the courage to reveal the truth and fight against evil. That they have the enlightenment to prevail Justive for everyone. And to my country, Philippines, we are sorry for your downfall. I am very sad that things like this do happen.

I attached here pictures related to the incident, I want all of us to be aware, though we cannot avoid by all means.

Lay Bare Waxing Salon

Posted in Beauty-licious with tags , , , , on January 17, 2011 by applesdiary

Waxing is definitely way better at Lay Bare. Say goodbye to warm waxing and welcome the smooth and pain-free cold waxing offered by this Salon. At Lay Bare, they use cold sugar wax jelly which are said to be made of sugar, kalamansi, and honey that can exfoliate and whitens skin. You will surely LOVE Lay Bare ♥ with its quality service that doesn’t harm your budget.

Lay Bare Experience:

After my thorough research in magazines and internet blogs about the best Waxing Salon in the metro who offer the best services ever with very affordable prices, I finally decided to go to LAY BARE-ATC and have my Full-Leg Waxing. ♥ ♥ And here’s how things were:

Since its my first time to undergo sessions like this, i felt awkward to wear the gown. However, with the help of Ate Helen, who is very friendly, I manage to make myself comfortable in a while. The wax jelly is so sticky, like it will totally strip off your unwanted hairs evenly.

And for the record, they also use powder to be applied first on your skin before they strip off unwanted hairs. This powder smoothens the striping cycle which lightens the pain or sometimes making it absolutely pain-free. * I acknowledge the cold temperature within the Salon’s facility plus the freezing hands of Ate Helen everytime she touches my skin. ☻Soo relaxing… ♥

Yeah it’s ME. Just like what it seems, I’m enjoying it. ♥ Haha. *thanks to my mom for the pictures during the session.*
I was ask to lay this way so as to give way on removing my back leg hairs or whatever you call it.
The pillow and the towel smells so good that’s why I don’t mind embracing them and have a good time. Truly relaxing.

LOYALTY CARD:

♥ This is my favorite part. They give away Loyalty Cards for future discounts when you enjoyed a number of services already. And since this is just my very first time, I just have one signature on my card. And oh, this card is redeemable in any Lay Bare branches- perfect.

WAXING REMINDERS:

Here how it goes:
1. After waxing, refrain from washing the newly waxed part for 4 hours.
2. If you get waxed during the early evening, wait till the next day to wash the waxed area.
3. Don’t scratch or rub.
4. Avoid putting on make-up, lotion, powder, cologne, etc. after getting waxed.
5. Apple antibacterial cream 2x a day after every wax (*i’m not aware of this, so I haven’t applied any cream after getting wax, failed to ask them about it)
6. For redness and minor swelling, apply cold compress by wrapping an ice cube around a washcloth and press it gently on the waxed area.It should make it subside quickly.
7. Refrain from any strenuous activities that will make you sweat to prevent any bacterial infection.

A-Notes:
1. Important: Do not wear lotion prior to your appointment because it will not make the waxing work for you. Remember that.
2. It’s better to wear shorts and shirts upon your schedule time so as to avoid the hassle of changing clothes, and also to keep you comfortable all through out the session.
3. Set an appointment. So whenever you came in the Salon, you are their priority.
4. Be calm! It’s not painful after all, besides you should be brave enough to lose those unwanted family of our skin.
5. I have to say this: They have no “Tip” box so when I ask the receptionist if I can see Ate Helen again to give her my thank you tip, she gave me this little envelope and keep the tip. Huhu. Hopefully, it was given to Ate.
6. Have your hair grow a little longer, because the little ones cannot be swipe away by the jelly wax. Ate Helen has to do the threading for my little ones.

Upon seeing the receipt, I saw that they uses two container of waxes for me. I wonder how big it is. ♥ Accurate Rate- I only paid P500.00.

Overall, GREAT SERVICE there is. I rank it 9.5/10

Red Mango Frozen Yogurt

Posted in Food Trips with tags , , , on January 13, 2011 by applesdiary

Since last year, I am very delighted by the boom of Frozen Yogurt Shops around malls here in Metro. I love that sweet-sour and cold experience in every spoon. The best thing about it, is its healthy benefits to our hungry bodies. When it comes to FroYo- RED MANGO for me is the best deal.

BRANCH:         Trinoma

MY RED MANGO EXPERIENCE:

Our Toppings:
- m&m’s mini chocolates
- mochi ♥
- grapes
- blueberry syrup
- hershey kisses mini
- strawberries slice
- mangoes

* We ordered the combination of Original and Green Tea Yogurt- Family Size which cost us P225.00 each plate. We also chose 4 toppings which cost P 50.00. So therefore, with these two bowls of irresistable frozen yogurt, we exchange our P550.00. Not BAD!

Red Mango Price Quotes: (source: Red Mango Website)

A-Notes:

1. M&M’s sprinkles/tops is much better than the hershey’s, that is if you love chocolate. Why? – talking about quantity here. :)
2. I haven’t tried the single order of both Original or Green Tea, but the combination of the two is soo yummy. ♥ you can’t resist.
3. I don’t like the Mochi… tastes like tikoy. You must try though.
4. Quick eating is necessary as you might not want a melted, messy bowl of froyo.

Banana Leaf ♥

Posted in Food Trips with tags , , on January 13, 2011 by applesdiary

♥ Banana Leaf introduces Malaysian, Singaporean, Thai, Vietnamese and Indonesian cuisine to the Filipinos. It is best known for its Malayan Chicken Curry and its Roti and Bread Specialties. The native banana leaf was being used as a plate during your dine-in. I find this beautiful to see fresh green leafs on a table like this in the Metro. The resto crew were also adorable, as they are in Kimonos (*if i’m not mistaken) and greets their customers with their pearly whites.

Branch Explored:        TRINOMA

Must try:

We  ordered the following dishes, and I must say that they are really awesome if not good.

Dish # 1 : Penang Char Kway Teow – P188.00

♫ I’m not sure what made up this dish, but I guarantee you that it tastes really great. The noodles are soft with a little sweet chili taste.

Dish # 2 : Deep Fried Squid Flavored in Homemade Spicy Garlic - P 228.00

♫ The dip was a bit spicy that’s why I enjoy it without the sarsa. Its crispiness stays which makes it yummier.

Dish # 3 : Stir Fried Clams in Singaporean Chili Sauce – P228.00

♫ This dish is so classy. The sauce with chili flavored make it even tastier and a good match for the fried rice. Good job Chef!

Dish # 4 : Malayan Chicken Curry with Potatoes – P 228.00

♫ Not my type since I don’t really eat Chicken Curry (from whatever Resto, indeed). So I don’t want to be biased here. But then, as I mentioned above, Banana Leaf is known for this plate.

I failed to get the pictures of the next dishes, so forgive me. :)

Dish # 5 : Roti Canai – P 78.00

♫ This however may not be considered a dish but more of an appetizer for me. Its like a tortilla with a creamy, cheesy-chili dip. Nice. :)

Dish # 6 : Charcoal Grilled Sliced Pork Steak Thai Style – P 228.00

♫ Its like a hamon of the Filipinos except that it has a dip. A good match for the rice. But for me, its better without that kinda chilly (for the nth time) dip.

Dish # 7 : Nasi Goreng Nenas – P 188.00

♫ A delicious mixed fried rice. We empty the two plates, so I guess its more of delicious.

A-Notes:

1. Its nice to be with friends or families when you dine in to this restaurant since the foods served per plate are goood for 2-3 people already.

2. Prices are reasonable for an elegant and refined dishes served by the resto.

3. Banana leaves- cause you’re going to eat on a real Banana Leaf.

4. They have bottomless iced teas which is wonderful to uneven your thirst for the spices.

5. Good ambiance. -for Trinoma Branch, no idea with the other branches yet

February Here I Come!!!

Posted in My personal posts on January 10, 2011 by applesdiary

February is definitely a BIG DATE for me. The reason behind the caps is my boy friend’s arrival on the said month. At last, we are going to see each other again after a tough one year.

I have never been excited like this in my life. But with excitement comes pressure on how things are going to be again. Also, I am bothered by the way I presently look right now.

And for this 3 weeks or more interval of that BIG DAY, I am longing to prepare myself a little bit diet and a healthy exercise. Just like the old days, I am trying to avoid rice on my meals which is really fucking hard. It’s already a part of my lifestyle and a 180 degrees turn from it will do me a lot of favor and guilt.

Super hard. Dah!

Dec 17 – unforgettable ♡

Posted in Events ♥ with tags , on December 28, 2010 by applesdiary

I wanted to apologize for not keeping in touch with this blog lately, for I’ve been very busy (and lazy) for the last couple of weeks. But then, here I am trying to patch things up.

So what’s up with me now?

Let me talk about things one by one:

♡    CM’s Chrsitmas Party last December 17, 2010 was a success. Again, I was chosen to be one of the emcee together with Sir Rex, which we named as a package already since we led the same xmas program last year. Hard it may be, but its a privilege to be chosen as one. Also got the chance to meet and greet the DBP’s CEO and President Francisco del Rosario, who enjoyed the night with the Forever Young Band dancing in the beat of Twist and Shout by Beatles.

DBP Pres. Francisco Del Rosario with Forever Young Band

Had to leave early to make it to UST PASKUHAN 2010

♡   UST PASKUHAN 2010 was a BIG BLAST. Best fireworks, best band, best crowd and best effort- haha ang hirap makarating sa USTE, defined TRAFFIC. My first time to see KAMIKAZEE which I really had fun singing. LOVE YOU JAY. Shared the night with my MOM. I wanted her to see how beautiful the fireworks are and I guess she enjoyed really well as she plans to be back by next year.

♡ December 17 was a date of FUN-FUN-FUN!!! ♡

more updates soon…  ♡
