Burger Burger Burger!!!

Posted in Food Trips with tags , , on October 29, 2010 by applesdiary

Believe me or not, I’m on a strict diet. Rice is allowed only in breakfast and a “no-no” during lunch and dinner. This statement however is negotiable. -Harhar. There is something I cannot resist : people eating ridiculously delicious food beside me. It’s a suicide on my part. So what else can I do but to promise to myself to have an exemption on this so called strict diet. Crazy.

Just this afternoon, after I had a very determined lunch of just 4 small pieces of pandesal, we, together with my officemates decided to order BK (Burger King) for our mirienda. They don’t really have to pleased me for in fact I’m the one who initiate to search BK’s contact number and so on. After we are all set with the “what burger will i order?” part, the next thing that happen was a big disappointment. Guess what? BK-Glorietta 4 cannot entertain our orders anymore due to the very long list of their deliveries. Mind you, just about 15minutes ago, I just talked to somebody in that store who is very much willing to take our orders and then, in a while, they cannot. So what will you expect? The disappointed burger people -US took the challenge of finding other branches along Makati, only to find out in the end that there were only 3. One is Makati Medical BK Branch who directed us to Glorietta 4 again, for they do not offer delivery services. Another is the BK Cinema Glorietta 4 which is located at the upper level of the mall, and just the same, directed us back to BK G4 again, who happens to be at the lower level of the same mall. And then we accepted the fact that BK was not ours for the day.

Who says we quit? Of course not. If we cannot have BK, then we can have BA- Burger Avenue. :) The power of internet once again saves the day. The nearest branch of Burger Avenue is at the A-Venue Mall, B. Valdez St. Makati Ave. Dial the number, then we’re all set once again.

Mentos Yoghurt

Posted in Food Trips with tags , , , , on October 27, 2010 by applesdiary

I am fascinated by this new Mentos Yoghurt now available in the market. With its very cute container, curiosity takes me to be attached with this chewable candies since the first time I saw it in the supermarket. The gums are available in 3 flavors namely: peach, strawberry and raspberry. The last two cannot be determined in taste except maybe for their colors: light pink for the strawberry and a little darker pink for the raspberry. The peach is kinda yellow one. This Mentos claim to have Calcium which I think is good for it is not only yummy but healthy as well. I don’t have the chance to count the chewy dragees inside but I dare you that you will get enough of them in just one bottle.

It’s a must try for those who have a sweet tooth. I wonder why it comes only with three flavors, maybe because mentos have variety of chewy dragees which you can choose from. Anyway, I’m enjoying it and always keep these on my bag to cover my so ordinary days at the office.

my first CASH gift ♥

Posted in My personal posts with tags , , on October 25, 2010 by applesdiary

A year after I became a part of the DBP family, I received the biggest amount of money which I can call as my own. Yeah, this is one of the best thing about DBP, about being in a GOCC working for the development of this country. ♥

We call it Cash Gift which is supposedly be given during December for the Christmas Season. But then, it was always given about 2 months earlier before the expected date. The reason why is for the parents/employees to compensate with their  children’s tuition fees for the next semestral period. Even contractuals like me received the same amount- and i love them for that. Even the janitors, security guards, and the drivers enjoy the same privileges. This so called cash gift is equivalent to P35,000.00 and was given religiously every October of the year. For this year, it was on the 15th of October.

The question now would probably be:

What will I do with that P35k?

This is how I planned to spend it:

- P20,000.00 will be for my little brother’s tuition fee for PATTS for his second semester. He’s taking up BS Avionics in the said college and I’m proud that he’s doing really well on his course. Mind you, he’s first sem’s final grade was such a blast with an average of 1.725. He’s qualified for the 50% scholarship offered by the college. Hopefully, it will pursue. -talking about a proud sister here.

- P5,000.00 is alloted to pay my tita, to whom we are indebted for almost how many months already. Shy*

- P10,000.00 will be all my mine. harhar! -as i’ve said above, this is how i planned it but will not always be the case. :)

For all I know right now, there is only P4,000.00 remaining balance in my ATM card as opposed to the expected P10k. As long as it is for the happiness of my family, i really don’t mind spending it. ♥ Until next year my dear DBP. ♥ Thanks a lot.

Pork chop Marinade

Posted in Cooking 101 : Like a PRO on October 25, 2010 by applesdiary

I’ve been dying to have my mom cooking skills but I guess her cooking genes doesn’t work well with my system. But even so, I am trying to be somehow resourceful to take note her recipes and put it here in my blog for future references (in case i badly need it in time).

Here’s the no. 1 on my list:

Pork chop Marinade

Ingredients:

-2 tbsp. Flour

-a little Vetsin: to taste

-1/2 tsp. pepper

-1 tsp. salt

-2 fresh eggs

-sliced pork chops

* subject to changes depending on the amount of pork chops to be marinated.

* above are good for about 1 kilo medium sliced pork chops ♥

How to prepare:

1. Mix all ingredients together. Make sure that the flour will be distributed very well.

2. Put the pork chops in the mixture and place it inside the refrigerator.

Tips:

- It is better that the container to be used in mixing all the ingredients will be the same container to be used for storage. ♥

♥ Shoes

Posted in Shopping Spree on October 23, 2010 by applesdiary

I definitely ♥ Shopping.

Bags, accessories, pants, dress, shirts – Darn! I definitely cannot get over them. And shopping for shoes? Oh my, it is one of the best stress reliever. These pair of things will travel with you with the rest of the world, so why not have the best of them. They don’t have to be expensive. What’s important is that you are comfortable with it and it makes you feel good, feel beautiful.

Got a few new collections today. In a very very affordable prices.

Mind you, they are only P299.00 each. A good deal right? And Cardams’ shoes are really good, comfy and durable. I had these from SM Bacoor during their big weekends sale this October. Cardams is located at SM Bacoor, second floor, near the SM Department Store, if I’m not mistaken.

Tips: Usually the shoes being on sale are already the last pair for that style. So it’s a pretty lucky me- lucky you type of shopping. But then, have it a shot. I’m size 9 or 10 but then I manage to have a plenty pairs. ♥ Enjoy shopping

Let me have some sort of introduction here.

I’m apple. And this is my blog. Love me or hate me, it’s all up to you. All the things that will be posted here belongs to me. But then, I love to share a piece of my life with you. A life that has no boundaries. A life that is chasing real happiness, real freedom.

Everyday is a new story for me. Every entry in this blog reflects who I am, and what I ought to be. Sometimes it will be serious, sometimes it is fun, there are times that it will be useless but in the end- nobody cares. It will always be me and myself.

English- it is something that I want to enhance. I’m not good at it, but then I belive that I’m not the worst. I’m a true blood pinoy at heart and I’m proud to be. So no matter how I tried to be fluent here, I know that some of my posts will be in Taglish.

Trivia: This is actually not my first blog. I’ve been through many blogsites already and created about a countless account. But then, I don’t find the contentment that I’m longing for. It is as if there is something missing in my posts, in my ideas, in my blogs. Weird it may be but it is true. And I can’t explain why.- that’s the hardest part. Having this new blog again, I feel excited. It’s as if I have my new world to explore.

For my readers, feel free to comment on my posts- may it be bad or good. I don’t care. I really don’t. But instead I will be glad that you spend your precious time reading my stories. Let’s get it done. :) Welcome to my life.
